Loon Photography Tour

Photograph the common loon and their chicks

What Makes This loon Photography Tour So Special?

My custom-built loon photography boat is uniquely designed to help photographers capture stunning, low-angle images of loons in their natural habitat. The boat is exceptionally stable and features comfortable, low swivel seats—allowing you to shoot just 16 inches above the water’s surface for that dramatic eye-level perspective.

With a flat floor for safe movement and an outboard motor to reach remote locations quickly, this boat gets you where the action is. Once we arrive, a silent electric trolling motor allows us to approach the loons quietly and ethically, providing incredible up-close photography opportunities without disturbing the birds.

You’ll be accompanied at all times by your certified captain, wildlife photography guide, and instructor—offering expert guidance, camera setting tips, and insights into loon behavior. This hands-on instruction ensures you have the best possible chance to create professional-quality loon photos, whether you’re a seasoned photographer or an enthusiastic beginner.
